We are proud to introduce MEGA, our innovative solution designed specifically for syndicators and building managers. MEGA automates the recording of monthly meter readings and energy consumption in various spaces such as garage boxes, SME units, retail spaces, student rooms and service flats. This makes energy billing simple and efficient.

Thus, depending on the type of MEGA web server, up to 32 local meters via Modbus (electricity, calorie, P1, pulse water and gas), and up to 128 meters via Internet , (e.g. meter channels of an existing MEMo3, ReMI, LoWi3), can be configured and read in very easily.
The collected meter readings and consumptions are automatically sent as an email with CSV file to the trustee with a set day/week/month frequency. In addition, this data can be accessed and exported at any time via the syndicator app or the tenant app.

MEGA operates on a subscription basis. Meter configuration and monthly meter readings and consumption are securely stored and backed up in the cloud. This provides not only remote access, but also continuous monitoring of individual meters via email notification.

Electro Brain EB+2024

Volta organizes the annual Electro Brain sector test, which measures the competencies of final-year students in electrical engineering fields, among others. Also this year, thanks to the Excellence Fund, there was a competition viz. Electro Brain+.
The 24 best participants (12 electrical installers and 12 electrical engineers) from Flanders who participated in Electro Brain were selected for the final day on May 29, 2024 at KV Mechelen.
The assignment for the electrical installer : To design a realistic and future-oriented household installation and explain it to a professional jury.
Concepts such as: energy management systems, renewable energy technologies were the focus.
To support this assignment, Volta and 2-WIRE organized a webinar for the 12 participating students and their teachers to give them some tips and tricks and possible solutions to add value to their presentation. You can re-watch the webinar on the use and operation of the ReMI Home Energy Manager re-watch.

MoCo, P1 to Modbus Converter

In a previous newsletter, we already informed about the plug-and-play MoCo module, which converts measured values and counter readings from the P1 port (digital meter) in real-time to Modbus RTU registers, consumption pulses or configurable smart grid-ready contacts. Meanwhile, readout of the A1 port (Landis+Gyr AMR meter) has been added and Modbus links have been made with, among others, the Bender EV controllers for load-balancing and smart grid, Loxone home automation (template available from the Loxone website), Honeywell’s EMS system, the Wago controller, Daikin heat pumps via smart grid, …

At the request of a Dutch customer, we are still investigating the possibility of adding two pulse inputs to Modbus to this module in addition to the values from the P1 port.

ReMI now also switches to dynamic rate

Recently, it is possible to smartly switch each of the four outputs of the ReMI and/or the paired 2-WIRE WiFi plugs based on the dynamic energy rate. This does require an MQTT token annual subscription, which you can order online at the 2-WIRE website. Once the subscription is active, ReMI retrieves daily official “day-ahead” prices in Euro/MWh. From then on, according to your own logic, you decide when to turn the paired devices on or off.

You can read how it works at FAQ/REMI on this website.
